Praying for Understanding
I am really in a position where I am trying to find answers from God and feel like I do not know the right thing to do for the first time really. Do you not have faith in God if you take medicine for something you have been praying for God to fix? Is the medicine the fix and the answer that he has given you? If you have succeeded and have proof that God has had mercy on you and watched over you your whole life, do you now stray away from what you have done before (if it is not broke why fix it methodology)?
However I understand that just because a person has not gotten cancer from smoking and everyone else around them has, does that merit that this person continue to smoke? If they have managed to live an entire life of being unhealthy and being overweight, without contracting diabetes and the doctor tells them that they are at risk; does this mean that this person should continue living the way that they are living? I mean they have had faith in God to protect their health and keep them from getting cancer and/or diabetes all their life, and they do in fact not have it. Although they are at risk for it, do they keep relying on their faith and living life the same way while relying on God all the more since they do in fact not have it although being at risk. Or do they change their lifestyle, quit smoking, eat healthier and begin to exercise? If they choose the latter, how are they not hindering their faith in God? And if they do not do the latter, they are sinning by indulging in the sins of the flesh to some degree.
I have a lot more to speak on this, but I will stop rambling for now…
